New kicks!

I’ve needed new shoes since {probably before} I ran the Chicago Marathon last October. I actually have three pairs of running shoes that I rotate between, but my favorite pair for long runs had seriously run outta cushion. I remember waiting for the marathon to start and my feet already starting to complain—eek.

{Maybe I should actually keep track of how many miles I run in my shoes this year…}

Now that I’ve registered for the Green Bay Marathon and am finally getting my butt back into shape, I knew it was time to reorder my babies.

My shoe of choice: The Saucony Hurricane 15.

It’s a motion control stability shoe, but it’s also lighter-weight than other stability shoes I’ve worn in the past, which is what won me over.

That and the sweet colors. Yesss.

But really, these shoes give me awesome support for loooong runs, and they don’t feel heavy like almost all my other stability shoes have. They also don’t look huge and clunky like most, which is an extra bonus.

I took these puppies for a spin tonight on the treadmill, 4 miles and no complaints here!

What kind of running shoes do you wear?

What’s your current favorite?

I have pretty much always run in motion control/stability shoes (my foot arches are flat as pancakes), but I’ve been all over the board when it comes to brands. I used to wear New Balance, then I switched to Asics, and for the last couple of years I’ve really liked Saucony.

And no, I was not compensated to promote these shoes…I wish. 🙂

    • I used to wear the kayanos too! But I didn’t love ’em, so I’ve been shoe hopping to find the perfect pair. My sister (much speedier runner than me) wears Mizuno & is a big fan.

  1. I’ve been running in different Brooks kicks the past couple years, tho I am intrigued by Saucony since I hear a lot of good things about their products..

  2. I was a huge Brooks person for years until I decided to change to a minimalist shoe…I’m not for barefoot or anything but I made the switch to the Saucony Kinvara, which is a 4cm drop- considered minimalist but not the 0cm like a barefoot show. I am on my 3rd pair and I love them!
